Elina Kopola, Director and Founder of TrendWorks
At the heart of TrendWorks mission is to discover and apply what trends mean for our clients and in particular how material design improves the product. Elina founded in 2002 and clients include Airbus, Mexx international, Panasonic, United Airlines in collaboration with Pentagram and Virgin Atlantic.
Elina studied textile design and is an alumna of Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. During her early career she worked for textile & colour consultancy Weaveplan where she gained her ‘10,000 hours’ in CAD/CAM design, manufacture, marketing and new product development. Clients at that time were, Botany Weaving Mill, BHS, Calvin Klein, Intercity Trains and Vescom.
In 1999, Elina gained an MBA Design Management from University of Westminster and became partner at Park Strategic Design. During this period she honed her skills in design strategy and robust design & culture research methods. Clients included: Whirlpool Inc., Kitchen Aid and Hyundai.
Elina has served as external examiner for Textile BsC Hons course at Huddersfield University. She is a member of the Design Management Institute .
She was born in Finland and now lives in London with her husband and two sons.
